Chapter History

The Sayreville War Memorial High School FBLA chapter was chartered on September 1, 1965, as chapter 4122. In the early years of SWMHS FBLA, students were given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at Hercules Powder and E.I. Dupont, whose facilities were within walking distance of the school. Since then, the chapter has gone onto produce numerous national winners and state officers. In addition, the chapter has become a core part of the community, developing partnerships with numerous businesses and organizations, including Goldman Sachs, Leo Club, and the Job Corps.

Competitive Events

Competitive events provide members the opportunity to collaborate with others on engaging projects. Honing in on leadership and teamwork, these competitions  allow hard-working members to gain recognition and otherwise serve as quite memorable experiences. With topics ranging from finances to web development, there is something in store for everyone.

Community Service

SWMHS FBLA is actively involved in numerous projects to benefit the community. Community service is part of FBLA’s core mission, and as such SWMHS FBLA has numerous annual projects and fundraisers. Members can truly make an impact in their communities, and take the opportunity to help out those in need.

The chapter’s annual project for community service involves raising awareness and funds to diabetes research. Bring awareness and support to the disease that affects nearly 645,000 people in New Jersey with a rising number.

Dedicated to the memory of our alumni Anthony  Monderine. This unifies members to spread positivity by spreading kindness cards throughout our community.

Networking Opportunities

FBLA gives its members the opportunity to interact and network with like-minded students at the local, state, and national level. Networking allows students to build up their self esteem and communication skills, whilst providing them with fresh perspectives. Networking is a key to success in the 21st century, and SWMHS FBLA is proud to offer numerous networking opportunities throughout the year.

Career Preparation

FBLA is the perfect organization for those seeking to enter the business field. However, the skills and experiences which members gain are useful across all career paths, giving members a competitive edge in their future professions.

Leadership Development

FBLA shapes aspiring professionals into young leaders. Integrity, collaboration, and ambition are all values which SWMHS holds true to – and are also ones which are greatly valued in the professional world. FBLA is promoting a new generation of leaders, starting with our very own chapter.
